Arctech Helsinki Shipyard Inc. (AHS) designs and builds special vessels for demanding conditions and routes. AHS is a forerunner in developing and applying technological innovations. AHS is owned by Russian United Shipbuilding Corporation. The company started its operation in April 2011.


Helsinki Shipyard is situated in the centre of Helsinki since 1865 and more than 500 ships have been built there. The shipyard has delivered the majority of the icebreakers and many cruisers in operation around the world.

Since AHS was established the shipyard has designed, built and delivered two series of multifunctional icebreaking supply vessels for the Russian shipping corporation SCF-Group during the years 2012 - 2013 and 2014 - 2018.


The first oblique icebreaker in the world with an asymmetric hull form was built at shipyard and she was delivered for the Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport in Russia in 2014. Also, an 18 MW icebreaker was delivered for the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport in Russia in 2015. The first LNG powered icebreaker was designed and built here, the delivery of her was for Finnish Transport Agency in 2016.


Next delivery will be an icebreaking arctic tanker, which is the biggest tanker ever built at the Helsinki shipyard.

AHS has approximately 600 employees, of which about 360 blue collars and 240 white collars.
