Jury of the #IntelligenceHunt, November 14th, 2017
Mrs IRENE ROSBERG, Director of Executive MBA in Shipping and Logistics (The Blue MBA) at the Copenhagen Business School,
Member of the SeaFocus Advisory Board - Chairman of the #IntelligenceHunt2 Jury
Is widely recognised as commanding enormous respect throughout the maritime and logistics sectors internationally for her work in executive education, research in identifying future challenges for industry, and building global relationships. She has high-level contacts in many of the leading organisations in her field, including excellent professional relationships in Europe, in Asia including China, and in Latin America.
"In my opinion, we have to look constantly for new approaches and adopt holistic strategies to resolve the relentless succession of problems facing the maritime sector. Intelligence Hunt (#intelligencehunt) is a great way to familiarise current and potential shipping and logistics executives with the challenges of the industry, presenting them with testing scenarios from real life. The project recognises that it is important to bring together people from companies and universities who can learn from each other’s skillsets. Among the strengths of Intelligence Hunt are that it takes its case studies from widely differing areas, that it draws participants from a range of backgrounds and nationalities, and that it encourages teamwork – in all, a recipe that I have sought to incorporate in my own professional practice and that yields excellent results."

"I am very pleased to support this year’s #IntelligenceHunt as a member of the jury and to work with passionate international students on future technologies. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) has always been a topic very close to my heart. Working with young people on their innovative projects and ideas is a truly inspiring experience. As an aerospace engineer myself and as someone who is very passionate about STEM education, motivating and challenging young people to look out and beyond is a very fulfilling part of my job. We are living in an ever-changing, fast-paced and global environment where new technology and innovation is in high demand. The #IntelligenceHunt is a unique project as it answers these challenges with teamwork, inspiration, leadership and fun. It is a great international project, which helps young people challenging their skillset, inspiring them to pursue their careers in STEM and to become future pioneers in our industry."

" University degrees do not guarantee anymore the development of personal skills and competences needed to face future problems. Education institutions do evolve and so do their approaches to find new ways of contributing to real world problems. These approaches enable the addressing of global and industry wide challenges, harnessing the creativity of fresh eyes and energy of multidisciplinary teamwork to produce ideas that can lead into applicable solutions. It is always a joy to witness the dynamics of an event and program such as Intelligence Hunt to boost the generation of ideas in teams and in discussions between the more seasoned experts and the young. No wonder hackathons have become popular, and maritime industry is also now having its own well-functioning format. Can’t wait to see the ideas, the energy and forward looking crowd!"

The rigorous method of adopting case studies does prepare students to make that quantum leap to confront global challenges. Furthermore as an academic with strong practical industry background, I strongly feel my participation will help students prepare themselves for the labour market. This Intelligent Hunt is certainly a springboard for students intending to sharpen their business acumen in the field of maritime economics." Eyden Samunderu
