Finnlines Launches its Case Heading "Scaling Up a Passenger Service Concept"

In autumn 2018, Finnlines revealed plans to order the new series of RoPax ships. The new class of ships, working name Superstar, will have a full intake up to 5,2 lanekilometers and 1300 passengers. The new vessels will meet the highest technical and environmental standards. The target of the planning is to create the most environmentally friendly ship design ever operated in the Baltic Sea. Automated berthing solutions for these vessels are also under investigation. Two of these vessels are planned to operate on the route Naantali – Kapellskär, scaling up the currently viable Finnlink business concept.

Intelligence Hunt 5 Company and Student Competition, which kicks off working on the cases on the week starting 25th March, will have a case related to these vessels, assigned by Finnlines.

The focus on the case assignment will be on developing the passenger service concepts and thus the heading for the case assignment is: “Scaling Up a Strong Port Partnership and a RoPax Concept to a  New Sustainable and Attractive Joined Passenger Service Concept”.
