Kalajoki is located on the shore of the Gulf of Bothnia in the Northern Ostrobothnia of Finland. The Port of Kalajoki in Rahja serves as a transport node between truck and ship traffic. The Port of Kalajoki’s location by the deep open sea is very advantageous in terms of the maintenance of the entrance channel.

The overall traffic of the Port of Kalajoki is approximately 500,000 tonnes and there are about 150 vessels visiting the port annually. 70% of the traffic from the Port of Kalajoki is export and 30% imports.

Sawn timber is the main export product of the port and every year 500,000 m3 is shipped from Kalajoki. The Kalajoki Port area was expanded in 2018 and it has 550 meters of quay for loading.

The Port of Kalajoki can export even small amounts of goods for global markets efficiently. This is achieved by integrated shipments of several companies and the goods for export are collected straight from the sawmill or factory.
