Simon C. Bergulf joined A.P. Moller – Maersk in 2017 as Director for Regulatory Affairs. In this global position, Simon is responsible for the Group's regulatory activities on key topics, including climate change, environmental challenges as well as digitalization and autonomy. He represents A.P. Møller - Maersk in European and international fora from the EU to the UN (International Maritime Organization). Prior to joining A.P. Moller – Maersk, Simon was Director EU Affairs for the Danish Shipowners’ Association for eight years. He worked for Hill & Knowlton in Brussels from 2001 to 2008 representing large food and fast moving consumer goods companies at EU level. Simon has a Master degree in International Relations and a BA in Political Sciences. He is a guest lecturer at several Belgian, French and Danish Universities.

Bettina Knudsen is COO/CMO and co-owner of Explicit, a greentech company specializing in environmental monitoring systems and emissions mapping using small-scale sensor technologies. The company applies drones and other airborne platforms to measure and detect air pollutants, including vessel emissions. At Explicit she is working to introduce new methods of air quality sampling, emissions monitoring and ECA-enforcement.

Before venturing into greentech, Bettina has a background in asset management having held senior management positions within the investment industry. Her focus is on business development and strategy. She holds a Master in Communications with a minor in Business Studies from Roskilde University, Denmark.

As VP, Global Sustainability for Wallenius Wilhelmsen, Roger works with a wide array of corporate activities ranging from regulatory affairs to innovation and new business development.  In addition, the role serves the increasing Environmental, Social and Governance interests and expectations of customers, investors, employees and other stakeholders.

Roger is also the founder and Chairman of the Trident Alliance, a group of shipping companies campaigning for robust and effective enforcement of maritime sulphur regulation for the mutual benefit of the environment, health and fair competition.

Before starting his current role in 2017, Roger spent two years as VP, Global Head of Key and Liner Accounts at Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL), a commercial assignment with a significant marketing and communications aspect that spanned the automobile, heavy equipment and breakbulk segments.  Prior to that he was WWL’s VP, Head of Environment for three years. Roger holds an engineering degree from the University of Dublin, Trinity College.

Kristin Strand-Omreng is the Chief of Staff at Höegh Autoliners, a global RoRo carrier with more than 450 land-based staff spread across 20 offices around the world, in addition to our 1 400 seafarers.  Kristin started her career within executive search, recruitment and selection at Hartmark Consulting. She later worked at Mercuri Urval as Head of Candidate Sourcing for the Norwegian and UK organisations. From 2011, Kristin worked at Aker Solutions as HR Manager for the Subsea Norway and Africa regions, and later as Vice President Human Resources for the Global Functions and Sales/Front End organization. Kristin joined Höegh Autoliners in 2018 as Chief of Staff. She holds a degree as Master of Science in Business and Economics from The Norwegian School of Management.

Poul Woodall has over 40 years of experience within the maritime and transport industry. The first 36 years were spent with A.P.Moller-Maersk in various positions, mainly within the container and Ro/Ro segments. His career includes 17 years overseas experience with postings in Asia, The Middle East, and Europe.

Since 2010, Mr. Woodall has been with DFDS A/S in Copenhagen and in June 2013 he was appointed Director for Environment and Sustainability for the DFDS Group. Mr. Woodall has a degree from Copenhagen Business School supplemented with management education at Insead and Stanford University. He is in the steering committees of the Trident Alliance and Green Ship of the Future and on the advisory board of IMPA-act. Marine environment policy work is conducted through his affiliation with Interferry and various ESSF working groups in Brussels.

Harilaos N. Psaraftis is a Professor at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Department of Management Engineering. He has a diploma from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) (1974), and two M.Sc. degrees (1977) and a Ph.D. (1979) from MIT, USA. He has been Assistant and Associate Professor at MIT from 1979 to 1989 and Professor at NTUA from 1989 to 2013.  He has participated in some 50 research projects, 24 from the EU, including project SuperGreen on European green corridors (2010-2013), of which he was the Project Manager. He has been a member and chairman of various groups at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and has also served as CEO of the Piraeus Port Authority (1996 -2002). He has published extensively and has received several academic and industry awards. His latest book is entitled “Sustainable Shipping: A Cross-Disciplinary View”, Springer (2019).

Mikki Koskinen is the Managing Director, ESL Shipping Ltd and Chairman of the Board, AtoB@C Shipping AB, both part of Aspo Plc. He also serves as a member of the Aspo Group Executive Committee.

ESL & AtoB@C Shipping together own and operate a fleet of 49 heavily ice-strengthened bulk carriers and multipurpose dry cargo vessels between 3,000-56,000 dwt totalling 464,000 dwt. Annually the companies carry 16,5 million tons of cargo. Currently ESL Shipping is operating two LNG-powered ice 1A-strengthened handysize bulk carriers. These new ships decrease CO2 emissions by more than 50 % in comparison to ships of previous generation built ten years ago. These vessels also feature world’s first autonomous bulk handling cranes developed and tested together by Macgregor and ESL Shipping.

Koskinen has experience from bulk carrier, dry cargo vessel and special vessel commercial operations in harsh climatic conditions and he has participated in development of new service and vessel concepts for both industries and shipping companies, including vessels utilizing state of the art environment-friendly technology. Frank Kho´s career includes more than 30-year experience in the container logistics and terminal industry.

He had several senior management positions in Asia and Europe with PSA and HPH, 2 of the leading global terminal operators. And prior to become an advisor, Frank also has been a member of the global leadership team of Kalmar for 6+ years. Kalmar is a leading global supplier of equipment and automation solution for the terminal industry.

Frank has an excellent track record in terminal management and has managed several container terminals across the globe. He has built and lead successful teams; execute many operational improvements, terminal design and process development projects. He has also done several organizational and operational due diligence projects as part of terminal acquisitions.

Within Kalmar, Frank has led the discussion regarding strategy and vision on automation in the container industry and was also responsible for account management and offering development of new solutions.Frank is an ICF-trained Professional Coach. He also has a Master degree in Control Engineering/Avionics. He believes that in this period of change and transformation, a learning mindset is a critical success factor.

Edgars Sūna holds a diploma from the Latvian Maritime Academy in economics with specialization in port management, a diploma from the International Maritime Transport Academy in Rotterdam (Netherlands) in business and transport management for maritime shipping, a joint Master's Degree in Business and Organization Administration (MBA) from Riga Business School at Riga Technical University Riga in cooperation with the University of Buffalo (USA) and the University of Ottawa (Canada).

Maria Kuosa is CEO of Aeromon, a leading emission monitoring company. Aeromon helps industries discover and track the true nature of the air we breathe so they can build cleaner businesses and protect the environment. Aeromon’s innovative land-based and aerial technology helps to monitor maritime emissions, urban air quality, industrial fugitive emissions and landfill emission mapping. In October 2018 Aeromon received the European Industrial Internet of Things Customer Value Leadership Award by Frost and Sullivan.

Before joining Aeromon, Maria held senior and leadership positions at Idean where she conducted digitalization, service and business design projects for international customers within the maritime and automotive industry among others. Federico Crivelli holds a Master Degree in European Policies and International Relations, both at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan. Yrjö Vainiala has worked as a Port Director, the Chief Operating Officer and Commercial Director of the Port of Naantali Ltd since 2005. Tom O Kleppestø has been the General Manager of Shipping & Offshore Network since 2008 and Secretary to the Board of Oslo Shipowners’ Association since 2010. He took over as General Manager of Ocean Industry Forum Oslofjord in January 2018 after Vidar Pederstad, former director of Nor-Shipping, who took up the position of director of the S/S Christian Radich Foundation. These three associations have now formed a collaboration called Maritime Oslofjord.

Mr. Kleppestø established and ran the Maritime Trainee Programme for the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association for ten cohorts from 2004 to 2017. He was also responsible for the development and implementation of the association’s top executive programme Marex from 2010 to 2016, together with academic partner Duke University in the USA. He is also currently working to establish a Centre for Ocean Business (OBZ) at BI Norwegian Business School together with professor Torger Reve.

Tiina Tuurnala began her career in the field of hydrography in the early 1990s. In 2010 Tiina was appointed Development Director of the Finnish Transport Agency and a few years later she was appointed Deputy Director General in charge of the traffic and Information Function. Tiina was responsible for national traffic management (road, maritime, rail), icebreaking services, nautical charts and functions related to the development of digitization, automation, and intelligent traffic. Since April 2017 she has been Managing director of the Finnish Shipowners Association. In 1998 she graduated with an MSc. (Engineering)  from the Helsinki University of Technology majoring in geographic information technologies.

Joanna Pawluczuk is the Managing Partner of 2Market Global, a consultancy firm headquartered in Singapore, specializing in new technologies in the supply chain, shipping, and logistics. Alan McKinnon is Professor of Logistics at Kühne Logistics University, Hamburg. He has been researching and teaching freight transport and logistics for almost forty years and has published extensively in journals and books. He was a member of the European Commission's High Level Group on Logistics, Chairman of the World Economic Forum's Logistics and Supply Chain Industry Council and a lead author of the transport chapter of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's fifth assessment report. He has spent many years researching the links between logistics and climate change and been an adviser to governments, international organizations and companies on this topic. He is the author of Green Logistics and Decarbonizing Logistics, both published by Kogan Page.

Heli Koukkula-Teixeira has over 20 years of experience in international project coordination and event management. She has worked several years for the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Finland as well as for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland as an important member of the coordinating groups of international development programmes. Furthermore, she has many years experience in organizing several international as well as national events, seminars, and conferences from the idea to the implementation and co-operation with corporate and institutional bodies.
